Lakeside Retreat – Yoga & Sound Healing in Victoria
My journey with yoga began 10 years ago after a life-changing accident left me struggling to walk and unable to work. Before my injury, I was working over 60 hours a week with no time to slow down. While enduring a massive head injury was one of the most challenging experiences of my life, I now see it as one of the best things that ever happened to me.
After months of slow recovery, I hesitantly stepped into a restorative yoga class—and I was hooked. Through yoga, I learned to prioritize balance, work fewer hours, and embrace activities that bring me joy, like hiking, paddleboarding, and painting. Most importantly, I found the freedom to relax and truly live.
My passion for yoga inspired me to deepen my practice and pursue certification, transforming it from a personal healing tool into a way of life. A few years later, I felt called to immerse myself even further and traveled to India to learn from the source. It was during my time in India that I first experienced sound healing, and after just one session, I walked away a true believer—it was a deeply transformative experience.
Determined to understand this profound healing modality, I became a certified sound healing practitioner in Thailand and later completed a year-long diploma in sound healing with the Sound Healing Academy. My passion for the science behind these practices led me to pursue formal studies in neuroscience at the University of Chicago, where I am currently enrolled. Years ago, I also studied anatomy and physiology as part of my massage therapy training, further deepening my understanding of the human body.
I am committed to continuous learning, regularly taking courses and attending Neuroscience and Yoga conferences over the last four years, where I’ve studied and learned directly with leading experts in the field. This knowledge has significantly influenced my approach to integrating neuroscience into both yoga and sound healing, providing a research-backed, holistic experience for my students.
Beyond yoga and sound, I am an avid student of psychology, deeply fascinated by how our emotions, mental state, and past experiences shape us. I continually study how yoga and sound healing can help rewire the brain, regulate the nervous system, and support emotional well-being.
Now, a decade into this journey, I continue to evolve and share these powerful practices through Lakeside Retreat, where yoga, sound healing, and neuroscience come together to support your path to balance, healing, and inner peace.
“I believe that by incorporating yoga in your life, you have the power and ability to heal and become the best version of yourself.”
I embrace and specialize in restorative yoga, and recommend it for injured or highly stressed individuals. Practicing restorative yoga daily has led to my full recovery allowing me to practice and teach other forms of yoga, such as: hatha and yin. I believe that by incorporating yoga in your life, you have the power and ability to heal and become the best version of yourself.
